With the introduction of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and the Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023, India has taken a significant step toward replacing its colonial-era criminal statutes and addressing long-standing delays in trials and proceedings, while also introducing new complexities for practitioners and litigants alike.
